Its a 64 chevy biscayne, straight six, 2 barrel carb. When i step on the gas it sounds like its dying out, then it pops and im getting some huge fire balls. Any tips on how to fix it?

Popping through the carb is most likeley the accelerator pump circuit. Make sure you have good pump shot. Some of the old 2 BBl's you can bend linkage to maximize pump shot. To verify you can close the choke a bit while you crack the throttle to se if it minimizes the problem. With the Engine shut off look down the carb and see if you have a good stream of gas coming from the accelerator pump nozzels. Carb rebuild or replace could be the fix, timing, fuel filter and all the cheap part fixes should be looked at first however most likeley accelerator pump shot.
