If I use a stock bore 400 block, 350 heads for a bit more compression, with a fairly radical cam, hydraulic lifters, headers and manual trans. What size carburetor would be suggested??

A 400 engine running at 90% VE at 6000 rpms needs 625 cfm.
Same calculation but at 85% VE needs 590 cfm.

Most would say a 750 is good even on a 350, but I get so tired of tuning carbs that are too big. You might have luck with a Holley 650 or 670, but 750 is too big, and 600 might be a little small.

You could just get a Qjet since they adjust their flow based on what the engine needs.
