Hi
I have mounted a Carter 4070 electric fuel pump can't get the fittings to seal properly.
The fittings have NPTF threads and according to the mounting instructions enclosed with the pump, one must not use thread sealer on these fittings.

By now I have torqued so much that I'm afraid I'm going to destroy the fittings if I torque any more.
First I hadn't torqued very hard, so I don't think I have over-torqued from the beginning.

What should I do now? Change the NPTF fittings out to a couple of ordinary NPT fittings, add some thread sealer and put them on?

Have any of you had such problems by using the enclosed fittings on the carter 4070 pump?

Thanks for your answer!
I'm not sure what the difference is either. But the instructions clearly states:
"This pump is equipped with dry-seal fuel fittings. Do not use teflon tape or pipe sealant on pipe fitings, or breakage will occur."
