I have an 86 El Camino with the fuel injected 4.3 V6 and am considering hot rodding the truck. While I like the traditional v8, I am thinking about punching out the v6 and would like some advice as to how to approach doing this. Will this entail new transmission (has automatic) ? How about rear end? Comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

welcome ....best to ask in the engine forum.

My advise.......Save your money and get a V8. Cheaper in the long run. It will bolt to your tranny and the rear is probably the same as the v8 one.

Welcome to Hotrodders....I agree with what Poncho said and this should have been posted in the Engine forum.

Sorry about the post

Sorry about the incorrect post. I thought I was following instructions to post a message in the welcome area. Not real familiar with how this works but look forward to the advise. Thanks for the responses.
