I would like to know the weight of a chevy 305 before stock accessoires are added and after they are added. Also the same for a chevy 350. I have heard some people say around 400 or all the way up to 600. Most say 575. If anyone knows let me know, thanks.

the 350 fully dressed is about 550-650 lbs. Iron heads will add another 50-100lbs onto the weight.. the 305 is around 450lbs.

If your looking for performance go with the 350 though, I have a 305 and even though i get like 16mpg mixed driving, I wish that it would burn out more. But overall the HP should make up for the weight in the 350

I'd sure like to know where you can get a 305 that weighs 100 lbs. less than a 350? Where'd you get that data?

LOL, I was thinking the same thing, they are the EXACT motor outside of bore so they should theoretically weigh exactly the same if they have both have the same intakes and heads and such.

Of course if we really dice this down to nut job anal level the 305 would weigh more by a pound or less being the bore is smaller, making for more iron in the cylinders that is displacing aluminum piston material in that same area of the 350. :sweat:

Yes Brian! The 305 does actually weigh slightly more than a 350, but probably just a few pounds.
