I have a Volvo penta injected 502 chevy in my boat. Last winter I went through and put a new roller cam(higher lift grind recomended by Arizona speed and marine to achieve 520 hp 582 ft lb torque) and gold roller lifters from crane. I used the old hydraulic roller lifters that where in the motor they had 100 hours on them. They seemed fine no noticable wear. I also rebuilt the heads with new valve springs to match the cam and rockers. The engine ran great for 11 hours then a noticeable click in the valve trian surfaced. Still runs strong. I went to re-adjust the valves and the clicking is still there. Did the lifters fail? How do I tell if the lifters have failed. Or what else could it be.
Thanks,
Todd
