Anyone ever replace a chevy sb with an olds, buick or pontiac BB (76 Olds 455)? I was told by a demo derby guy the motor mounts are different, but are the same ones used for all diesel GM engines. I've looked at a lot of parts sites and their all geared to putting a sb into an S-10. I want to put it in a full sized pickup. Just occurred to me... should ask Mr. Goodwrench, huh?

Still, I'd like to hear from anyone who's survived such a scheme. No computers of FI involved...

I'm a little confused; my question was about the motor mounts; the Olds trans comes with the engine. My question was about motor mounts for the Olds 455 - to replace a SB Chevy and 700R4 trans. Are you saying the motor mounts on the 455 and the Chevy SB are the same?
