I Finished painting one of my fenders ....with the fender off the car. 3 coats of single stage red and three coats of clear. I stored the fender in the garage and a paint can fell from the top shelf and took a big chip out of the paint on the fender. Is there a way I can mask off around the chip....fill it...prime it and then paint it and blend it in somehow? For some reason I think this will be harder than it sounds to have it turn out well. The car is not back together and I am painting it in pieces...so the car isnt finished yet.

Or....should I sand the entire fender down (Maybe 400 grit ?) and re-shoot the entire thing. Thanks.

From what i've seen if you try to paint one spot it doesn't always come out right. But what you do have going for you if that it was stored inside so its not faded so you might be able to get away with it. If it were me i would do the whole thing over.
