Guys, I need help deciding which of these three similar comp cams to choose from to go in my 10-1 355 with RHS 200cc heads, rpm airgap intake, 750 dp carb, 1 3/4" headers. I'm running a 4000 stall with a th350 and 3.73 gears. It will be a street/strip setup. Currently I'm running a hydraulic cam and want to upgrade to a solid for more power.

Cam#2: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CCA-12-224-4/

Any input would be appreciated

The 12-609-4 is classified as a "race" cam. Probably not the better choice for a street engine.

12-224-4 is an old Magnum grind. Okay, but basically obsolete since the XE grinds have come available.

12-678-4 is an XE grind. @ .050 numbers indicate good power up to about 6,700 with decent heads. We use a variation of this grind in the Pontiacs with plenty of success.

Of the three mentioned, the XE grind is my recommendation.

i like the third cam myself. CCA-12-678-4 it should do great with your set up as long as you can hook. i ran a similar cam in a 327 with world s/r torquer heads & it was a [email protected]#en beast.your 350 would do much better with the bigger cubes & better heads. what intake? i like a team g or victor jr, sure you will lose a little bottom end but they make up for it with making it easier to hook up on the starting line & they come on hard in mid range & top end.

I run a performer rpm air gap right now. It leaves hard with the converter it has and traction is not an issue as long as the track prep is there.
