you are still looking at 350 cams. The 305 has the same piston speed as a 350 3.7 bore Vs a 4" bore of a 350. The math is different for a 305. I wish I could type a long winded explanation like Bogie. If you put an intake and headers on with the cam change then you can make power and sound good. Unfortunately 350s need bigger headers than a 305.
If you just want a poser cam that works get a semi custom. look for 220º duration. .390 lift AKA short track small engine lift rules cam. 104-106º exhaust needs to be 110ishº with 8º split. For fun use a 650 x Holley or similar

congratulations you chose the H260. Turn the idle speed down and some people will hear the cam sound. Without headers that sound will be slightly diminished. Good luck. Takes 7-8 hours to change out the cam by yourself if the grill comes out of your car easily or you have enough room? If that cam is on some ones shelf give us a cal the next day let us know how it goes

wheather the cam goes in late or on time its the HE260 not 206. If thats what you want go for it. Most people dont realise that the cam fits the driver/owner more than the car. There are no engines that I personally use where that is the correct cam. Sounds like its a little light for what you originally posted? It will function so if you like what other people said then go for it

these specs would give similar sound but more bottom end. You have more than enough to choose from now

Having connections comes in handy. Having raced both drag and circuit Ive met some great friends.
I dont know who is the new P.A.W. type parts supplier but they used to sell super complete (moderate quality at best) O'haul kits for engines and transmissions. Use to be able to get both trans and engine kits for $500 or less
especially SBC/T350. Local guy here can bench build a T350 with shift kit in 2 hrs.
SO: Sat a.m. pull engine/trans. Send trans to shop by noon and pick up at 4. I would go for lunch and do what Richard called a stump rebuild. On to the engine stand (borrow) strip/clean/ball hone chase threads clean and start reassemble procedure. Sunday morning put stuff back in car. running by 2 p.m. Go for lunch test drive. Check levels maybe change engine oil. Ready to race.
