I'm looking for a paint that is called chrome. it's not paint for chrome. It just has the allusion of chrome. I think it was a clear like pearl. Any info would be great. Thanks in advance.

Its not a paint, its powdercoating. Eastwood offers it as well as any proffesional powder coater. The actual name is "Almost Chrome"

No thats not it either. Thanks though. It's a paint I seen about 5 years ago. I think the most popular color was yellow chrome. I believe it was an additive for clear. Back then it was like $300 a galon. But it looked really sharp. It was almost like adding too much pearl white to the clear. The looks of it was outrages.

Try the Chrome FX at <a href="http://www.alsacorp.com" target="_blank">www.alsacorp.com</a>
for Chrome paint . I know that's not what you were talking about but it mimics chrome pretty well .

custom chrome

Hey there,
There are a lot of company's around that supply a chrome effect or chrome duplicate finish, the better finishes are warter based and involve 3 main steps to apply, they must be put on by a skilled applicator and comtain lots of nasties(hydrocloric acid, silver nitrate, thermaldahide ect). they would cost around $10 to $20 us per sq ft to apply plus the clear on top, which can be tinted to any colour your imagination can come up with. A sight has been posted however i found www.goldtouchinc.com was more helpfull, they could tell you who in your area uses the product just check their web sight out, its got pics to.

Although i'm in Australia i may be able from time to time , help with information on paint finishes, decorative and practical, i have been a painter for 30 years, have a honours pass in 4 year vehicle trade painting course, have and continue to keep up to date with new and inovative thengs happening in the industry and would be happy to help where i can.
I stumbled onto this sight and love it, keep up the great work .

Mate from Down Under,
Looked at your message and the site you refer to, It’s the same as all the other products on the net, they all are from Italy.
Dude, reading your comments, it seems that if you have so much difficulties applying this very simple product, you either have done something else during 30 years as a painter, or did not learn how to do it properly or maybe did not have the recommended/required environment.
You said it, you need skills.
Whichever of these might be the case, I have seen and done some real awesome stuff with this material, and not only does it work well but it looks perfect to everyone at our Hot Rod club. (By the way, none of us have any degrees in painting, maybe we are just natural born painters?????).
AND, the company you referred to don’t sell the real pro. Stuff, needed to get a real good result. Know it first hand, since I also talked to them.

Hey Leonardo,

1st things first, why the personal attack, i never claimed to be a DAVINICH. If you know so much about it, why didn't you post a reply to the person requesting info instead of attacking me and what i said, which by the way was only helpful hints not, i reckon its the gospel.

Now that out of the way, i did'nt say i had any difficulty with application nor claim to be the ants pants of painters, i just offered some advice on the application and the facts of the HEALTH dangers involved, also a web sight of a company that had been helpful to me here. I know the original formulators of the chrome paint (for want of a better description) where Italian based, however when you contact them they have an automated answering system that forwards the requests to the closest under license distributor, lets face it, you guys in the USA and me for that matter in Australia, don't want to be sending things to Italy or importing from if the product is available closer and is the same or as good.
I am just starting out in the chrome "paint" field so if you know of a better product or supplier of it, PLEASE forward the info to me.I would also be interested to see a few pictures of things you have painted, especially in the chrome"paint".
So now the end bit, lets just call it even on the insult stats and start anew, i have a hunger for new, innovative and different paint finishes as well as god old V8 horsepower and modified cars and rods, thats why i like this sight, you learn as you look and you know as well as me, No one knows it all and is always learning.
Regards
Mark
