A while back I thought I saw something about someone making a knockoff(fake/imitation/etc.) boyd coddington wheel. I just bought a set of 4 coddington smoothie II's and just want to make sure I didnt get hosed. I did get them from a reliable source but just want to double check to cool my paranoia. I checked all over the net and can not find anything about what I thought I had saw,and can also not find anything that would tell me how to verify that they are real coddington wheels. If anyone can help I would appreciate it.

P.S. I know Im not crazy, the hospital gave me papers on my release to prove it.

To coddington or NOT??

How can you tell a coddington from a not a coddington wheel? Are they marked on the backside as to who makes them? Or is it the center cap that a dead give away? Personally I wouldn't spend the money on a coddington wheel's but then again my cars arn't worth that much either.

I am sure that they are REAL wheels........maybe not Boyd's, but real..................if you like 'em , don't worry about it.

These days, having something relating to Coddington is nothing to be proud of.

Yeah I already saw the stuff on his rep being bad.:nono: However if I paid premium price I just want to know I got what I paid for. I have seen wheels like mine much cheaper on various sites and assumed they were knockoffs as I thought I had seen somewhere. I just wanted to check and see if anyone else heard of this. Thanks.

i heard those coddington rims are like jap crap.

jap crap ain't worth jack $*it, I read on some guy's tshirt at the local cruise in one time.

suprisingly the rims I did get are of a superior quality. Im just wanting to know if they are coddingtons or a knock off/imitation. While I appreciate people like chevelle replying to my thread it simply does nothing to help me. To all others like chevelle that seem to have a strong opinion on coddington rim quality report it in a thread where someone asks for it. Im not. As I have seen the quality of rim that I bought just want to know If I got what I bought. So far no one here has really helped me on that at all. If anyone else can help I appreciate it, however I ask you to please keep your comments about coddington quality to threads asking for it, and then atleast have the inteligence to state what you have verified not what u have been told.

example to chevelle guy: my friend told me that chevelles are a poor boys camaro and in turn are a crappy car. While that is my friends opinion does it contain any facts to support it? U be the judge.imp:

Can you post some pictures of them? Would help with identification......You didn't state whether there are any markings on them. Most wheels of any type has some sort of identification.

eg..........I just got some wheels given to me. The guy that gave them to me thought they were Mustang 2 wheels. Turns out, they were made by progressive Wheel..........stamped on the inside.


BTW..........in my opinion, a Camaro is 1/2 the car that a Chevelle is....at least, it only has 1/2 the frame.

try this someone there should be able to tell you what to look for on your wheels to verify you didnt get screwed, there are phone #'s and email addreses there, good luck:thumbup: and I hope you know where the guy you bought them off lives incase they are knock offs :boxing:

Thirdscott please know what you are talking about before you get smart.:nono: I did call them and all the sales people are at a show in vegas. Was hoping someone on here could help me in the mean time.

On a side note I cant believe how rude people on this board can beain: I luv how moron's assume something they know nothing about. If I continue to have idiots like thirdscott getting rude I guess Ill just find a board that has more mature people on it.

The real coddingtons have a legit center cap with milled logo...the knockoffs have a sticker in place of that....easiest way to tell.
