compression ratio

I'm thinking about a Ford 351W or 5.0 litre "crate motor" with a compression ratio of 9:1 and a six pack. Will I be able to run ordinary pump unleaded premium without pinging, etc.?

you should be able to run pump gas as long as you dont get too wild with camshafts
