Hi All,

I need to do a compression test on an LT1 engine that has been removed from the vehicle. Can it still be done following the same steps as for an engine that is still in a car?

Presently, the engine is on a stand with all the accessories and harness still attached.

Thanks in advance!

Sure, you're only concerned with cranking it over. Pull the plugs, block the throttle blades open, wire a good battery hot+ to the starter and ground- to the block. Use a screwdriver between the starter+ and solenoid to crank it.

That's what I figured, but just wanted to make sure as I've never done it before. Thank you!
