Anyone know if the converter is diffrent on a th200 and a 2004r? 2004r mostly used on monte SS and GN's

The torque converter on the 200R4 is a lock up unit. I don't believe that the
th200 had the locking torque converter. I have the 200r4 in my car and I love it.

the early metric 200's did not have lockup., but by 78-79 they did, and it is the same converter from a lockup metric 200 and the 2004r, as well as the 3254L.
