Help!!! I am making a street rod/show car from an 88 vette. Its almost all apart and im putting an 8 point roll bar in it.My question is where does the main hoop weld to?? Does it have to go all the way to the floor (impossible because of seats), or do i weld it just behind the seats where the courtesy lights are?? I plan to weld plates and reinforcements here, but before i cut the pipe id love a 3rd opinion.I searched everywhere for a pic of a c4 with a 8 point in it, but alas, just about everyone out there with a vette is afraid to modify them.If anyone can help me ill be in debt to them.Im not even sure this post fits into the interior catagory, but hopefully someone out there can help....Thanks brian

Usually roll cages are mounted to the frame just beneith the floor, not sure on corvettes do to the fact I've never had one or worked with one. To my knowledge I would just follow the frame from beneith the body and try to coordinate that to the interior mounting of the bar.

Hey i got it all worked out....For anyone out there even thinking of doing it, behind the seats next to the courtesy lights, there is a spot where you can weld the main hoop to.Its half fiberglass, half frame, but its possible.Cut a triangle piece of steel, then another but bigger, and weld it up.The side and rear bars are another story though...Thanks everyone.
