1997 Chevy C1500 305 Vortec, looking for a 400 crank for a Stroker project. Can someone shed some light on what year crank will work???

My plans are to punch it 30 over, go with 350 pistons, 5.7" rods, a mild cam and some headwork with the Vortec heads (64cc's I think...194/160)and change the TBI injectors to the size of the 350 Vortec engine injectors.

Thanks

Being a 97 engine you will have to go to an aftermkt 383 crank like the scat offerings for one piece rear main blocks, your 305 block will not go to 350 so I hope you are talking about another one piece 350 core. You can't use 350 pistons with 5.7 rods in a 383, you have to use dished 383 pistons(taller pin height),with the small cc heads to keep the compression reasonable for a computer engine. A mild cam is ok, just watch the duration, the computer doesn't like long cams, the rest will work out ok
