I'm looking for a power window kit I can install in my 65 Corvette. The doors were completly gutted by the prior owner so installing an original "lift arm" style system isn't an option. I've been looking at the various units shown in Street Rodder. I have two major issues for an installation:
1) I only will have about 3" from the bottom of the glass to the bottom of the door when the window is down.
2) The lift rail would need to be curved (in the thin direction) to have about 1 - 1 1/2" of bow over it's 15" length. You can see the amount of curve in the window run for the other door laying across the bottom.
Now for the questions: Which kit has the lowest clearance required (I'm assuming the remote motor kits take less room at the bottom of the door); and has anyone tried to curve the lift track? I've never seen a unit in person so am not sure if I could curve the lift track (which I can do easily) and not have the slider bind (which I have no clue).
Thanks - Greg
