I am thinking about making a set of custom tail lenses for my mav ... I want to use LED and clear plastic but i have no idea where to start looking for what i need ... Lens material and the lights themselves ....Anyone know where i can find what im looking for ??

LED kits are sold in most hotrodding mags,
Be sure and check state laws on lens material, as most have laws on this. Some have to be defused,
some have to have reflecters built in. I`ve gone to the salvage yards and gather large tailight lens then cut my own out. good luck

Thanks troy ... My problem is that the mavs lenses are straight, About 13 and 1/8 straight to be exact. I cant find a newer clear lens that i can cut out ... I was looking for a supplier that i can get some lens material from ...

HEY MAV; LOOK IN THE PHONE YELLOW PARGES UNDER" Plastic Distributors" you will find people who sell plastic sheet and extrusions. They usually have a scrap bin with odd sizes. Just be sure you get material that is not to opaque. It can be formed by putting it in an oven over a form. GOOD LUCK...DAVE

www.usplastics.com they have lexan and a few other composites.

you copuld also try ACRYLIC AQUARIUM MANUFACTUERS (check fish magazines) as they can make anything in plastic and it will be real snazzy. I am slicing and narrowing the rear lights on my 66 t bird. it will be hawt once done. THey can tint sections using BLACK mylars too in the layers of plastic.
