Getting ready to fire up my Fairlane with a T-5 in it. I believe Dexron II was recommended but is no longer available. Is there any reason I can't use Dexron III. I think automatics can safely make the change but I'm not sure on the T-5.

It should be fine. I've run ATF and Syncromesh in several T5 transmissions and the ATF seems to work best.

Borg Warner went round and round with this. Some years it was engine oil, some years ATF. You can't use ATF in an early T5 that specified motor oil. Otherwise? you should be fine.
