After fresh reb motor (350) turns over few times and when I loosened the dist screw to turn for better timing, motor was off, dist turned like it was spring loaded. Does this mean I am off a tooth or is this normal? Advise, thanks Dana

No, not off a tooth necessarily and not normal necessarily. In order for the dizzy to move like that, there would have to be some binding between the housing and the shaft. Either the housing is warped or the shaft is bent or something along those lines. Disassemble the dizzy and find out what the problem is before you hurt something.
