I am a newbie at door repair and this bulletin board. I have a 1970 Chevy El Camino. The door latch or the drivers side sticks and the passenger side wont work at all. I tryed to unscrew it latch but she will not budge. Please help.
Thanks for the reply. The 4 screws that hold the latch in place will not budge. I have tried WD40 and a hammer. I figured i would take the latch out, clean and oil it , if it was in good shape, reinstall it. But first have have to get it out. Is there some easy way to get those screws loosened
I know in my 2nd gen. camaro, my doors would stick and the prob was that they had painted the latch mechanism and it would stick, some wd-40 fixed that no prob. And for the bolts, try PB Blaster, it is a penetrating oil you can get at most auto stores and the stuff is strong as you won't believe.
