What is the single electrical wire on these trans. for and how do you wire it in?This is not a 200r4, but the light duty one put in in place of th350's in some cases.Wire has same plug as on a 350, but goes into the side,horizontally behind the shifter, instead of plugging into the plug vertically on the 350.It is not a reverse light switch,cause we found that on the column.Don't think it is a converter lockup.This was in a 86 Impala, which I an using motor/trans, column out of.

Yup, should be lock up for the converter.

Thanks.I figure it is for a lockup, but I have the whole car that I took the trans/engine out of and am also using the steering column with column shifter.I can't find anywhere that there is a "button" to lock or unlock the converter in the origional car. So, do I wire this " Keyed hot", or put a switch in this car I'm buiding, or what? Thanks Jim.

I was told by Phoenix trans that 1 wire from the 12 volt pin on the tranny to the brake switch would do the job. Is this so?
