Has anyone had all the paint fall off useing the elec. process described in the knowledge base?
I left the front of a 55 chev. box in a 55 gal plastic barrel for about a week took it out today and the old paint fell off!
My question is afer the paint fell off I cleaned it up with 60 grit sandpaper and then sprayed it down with w-d 40, will this prevent rust for the time being?
Thanks

I haven't, but I was reading this other manual on how to do it, and it soundsed like it would work, fairly well. It also depends on how big the part and what material the part is made of. http://users.eastlink.ca/~pspencer/nsaeta/electrolysis.html
WD-40 will not prevent rust. Coat the part with a good sealer or Por-15. WD-40 will still let the moisture and air get to the metal surface, a sealer will not.

Thanks for the answers I'll get somthing on it right away HK. Stubby
