L31 short block with 64cc aluminum heads is supposed to be 9.4-1 compression.
Hydraulic roller cam with 224 intake,230 exhaust duration @ .050 with 110 lobe separation.
I was wondering if the dynamic compression ratio was going to be to low on this motor to perform well, if so I will go down a notch on the cam selection.

Also....I want to be able to run 87 octane.

That cam is perfect, don't look to change anything...except maybe put some thinner gaskets on it IF you don't already have the heads on...

Thanks man.... the 9.4:1 is going to have to stick though. I dont think I can do much better anyway because that is with the GM .028 gasket. My gas is pretty bad around here anyway.

I have also been toying around with the idea of going with 112 lobe separation instead of 110 to spread the power band out a bit and make it idle a little better.
do you guys have an opinion ?
