Engine Jogger

Hi Folks,
I have a two wire engine jogger/bumper that I`m not sure how to hook up. I want to use it to remotely turn a 454 with HEI over to adjust the lifters. So...where do I connect these two alligator clips? Bet if I stole cars as a kid I wouldn't have to ask this question.

thanks in advance

On the starter, one to the battery post on the starter and the other to the "s" terminal on the starter.
thanks Chet...dont want to sound to stupid but by S terminal? do you mean the solinoid?
It's the small terminal on the solenoid with an S next to it.
thanks guys...i appreciate it.
or

One on battery pos terminal
Other on solenoid "s" terminal.

If you have a GM car, look for the big group of wires up by the base of the windshield/top of the firewall.Look in here for a big fat purple wire,if you find this, you can put strip a little insulation and use this instead of trying to hook to the starter solenoid.Put the other clip on the battery + terminal and you're good to go.If it would help,I could take a picture of mine to give you an idea of what I'm talking about.

One more reason to wire up a Ford-type solenoid, IMO. You'll never regret it, only takes one "fabricated piece. The rest is wire, cable, terminals, solder and shrink wrap.
Like Cobalt sez :D I put them on all my projects and my buddies too.The GM solenoids seem to last alot longer also.No heat soak issues
Here's a crude drawing. Hope it helps.

Thanks everyone...there are some great ideas here.
Due to the cramped space between the headers and the block...I used one of those parts picker uppers...( the long flexibal cable with the 4 claws on one end and the push button that opens and closes them on the other) to clip onto the "S" terminal. Then clipped the ground from the jogger to the "P.P.U. and the positive to the battery. Worked rather well!

Thanks again
