hello, i am in the process of building two identical sub enclosures for the trunk of my car, they are similar the the base tube design, but i want to put a hemispherical cap on the end, for complete roundness in side, the boxes will be 12" at the ends, and i am not sure what to us to get the size and shape of the cap, so i am open to suggestions, thank you.

I don't know anything about subs but, I like buildin' stuff and nobody else answered you yet so I'll try to throw a couple ideas at ya.

Thanks to Krist kustoms for the info...

Check this link out maybe you could find a playground ball about the size that you're needin' and just make up some ends.
A balloon would be cool 'cause you could blow it up to the size that you need but, I wouldn't trust workin' with it though. If it popped it would be a sticky mess.

Tupperware had some bowls that were pretty round also.

Find a chick with a pair of DD's and cast 'em up. they would look real cool too. Opps, sorry if I offended anybody.I was thinkin' round stuff...

I'm not to crazy over those cheapo type "Dollar Stores" but, they have a lot of different stuff to look at for ideas.

I did the fleese/fiberglass thing above to make a cowl vent pan for my '34 Ford and used a couple plastic drinkin' glasses and connected A/C vent ends onto them.
Good luck and have fun,Smokey

Hey, I went to Installers Institute....anyway on with the question.

Cut ribs out of mdf (to your desired shape) then stretch fleece over and fiberglass. If you need more detail just PM me. Same principle as building a kick panel or sub box from fiberglass.

If you are still doing the project. Try PVC plastic pipe. Just remember not to make it to big. You have meet the perameters as far as air space goes. Also is it a sealed, or ported system?? Also Subwoofers are nondirectional. The sound needs to bounce off of something solid to work well..
