Can anyone give advice to the best way to fill the top on an a 34 Ford coupe. The car has long standing rust issues at the original opening and it makes little sense to repair back to original. I remember reading some time ago that donor cars(ie; station wagon, van) are the best way to get a factory braced and ribbed filler panel. Which donor cars should I seek out? I am hesitant to use unbraced sheet steel. Welding is not a problem here. Thanks

I dont think, that it is so much the ribbed/braced panel, as it is getting the right contour. You want to find a filler panel with the right shape to it to look right.

Ponch is right on. I used a mid 60s Falcon to fill my 36 Ford. The older metal would probably be easier to use. Dan
