Recently I noticed that when I turn the headlights on in my 74 Javelin the left blinker light illuminates. It has been intermittent. I'm thinking I've a ground in the column but I have no idea how to find it. Any suggestions?

I had a similar problem with my Chevy 71 C10, right blinker indicator in dash would lite up when I switched the Headlights on. The blinker mount bracket on the bumper was loose causing a bad ground.

I would start by checking the ground at that left blinker light and go from there. In an older car, I would go around and clean all your grounding points.

Thanks for the replies. I look at the mentioned areas today.

Checked the bulbs and they were good. Checked the ground in the trunk and it was good. Noticed some corrosion on the front blinker housing prongs. Used a bit of emery cloth and cleaned them up. Magically everything works correctly now.
