My wife managed to rub the front bumper of her '00 honda against the brick house when pulling into the garage. What I am left with is about a 4" diameter area that is rubbed and scored. Some areas are down to the black plastic bumper and other areas it just scored the clearcoat resulting in bright white 'lines' in the red paint.
What do you guys suggest to do about this? We are planning on putting the car up for sale in the near future and I just wanted to 'mask' this area some. It doesn't need to be perfect.
What I planned on doing was to polish the area to make it all smooth, then use a prep-sol to clean it out, then apply the factory touchup paint to the deep cuts, and then hopefully either wetsand it or polish it somewhat smooth. What do you think about this?
Again it doesn't need to be perfect and I don't want to spend days trying to fix this area, but don't mind putting in a couple hours of work to help sell the car away. It is the only damage to this vehicle.
I can post a pic of the area if that would help?
thanks,
kev
