I would like to replace the fluid type inclined manometer on my flowbench with a digital manometer like the ones offered by Omega or MKS. Has anyone tried doing this and if so how would you measure the differential. I believe you would subtract the number from the 28" then calculate a percentage and then calculate the flow against your orifice size but I'm not entirely sure.

I think the deal with the digital manometers is that you imput the
flow benchs parameters, that is its inlet tube inside diameter, the orifice plate inside dia.air density. air coificante etc.
then it extrapalates volumetric/mass flow rate. or you could buy a cheaper one that just gives presure differance, and you could plug those numbers into a program that you write on your own in Microsoft excel.
then you can have a old pc as part of your flow bench.
heres a tip have your pc on a differant plug in than your flow bench, that way if you blow the breaker (i know i do sometimes if
im runnig my blowers for long peiods of time at high testing pressures) you wount crash the computer.
