I have successfully used a throttle assembly attached to a MAF sensor piped to the cylinder head with air flow supplied by my shop vac.Throttle closed, vacuum on = 33.4 mv / WOT = 2.94v.
These are comparatively similar to the numbers I have seen from
the running 1995 Ford Aerostar 3.0L. Go to my profile for diagram
in my photo gallery.

Welcome to the board. Yes, I have an old 60s magazine article, Car Craft I think, that tells how to make up a poor boy vacuum cleaner flow bench. Start a forum and show us how to do it. Also, valuable tech posts like this should go in the proper forum, Engine in this case. This forum is intended for general introductions so doesn't get great tech response.

Welcome to Hotrodders.com

would it be best to use a Kenmore vacuum since it's close to craftsman, or would a kirby be better?

sounds interesting, more please!
