Pressure is higher than you think in TH400 cooler lines
I beg to differ with this statement, there is plenty of pressure at high RPM, at least there is on a TH400. I thought the steel tubing needed a rubber section to prevent vibration damage, so I cut and installed two sections of hose. Had to tighten very tight to stop leaks. When it kicked down to first and ran up to 5000 RPM, the pressure pushed that hose right off the tube and bathed the underside of my truck with fluid.
Use pressure hose or compression fittings.

There's not much pressure from the tranny pump, hoses and screw tight clamps will do.
