My '99 Mustang has the 4R70W automatic tranny with OD. It has a 12" converter and about an 1800rpm stall speed. Lincolns with the 4.6 "Hi-Po" motors had an 11" converter. This info I got from a fellow who reworks converters. The Lincoln converter has around a 1000 greater stall speed.
I am trying to find out one of 2 things that would allow a change to work.
1. Is the Mustang flexplate also drilled and tapped for the 11" converter which has a different bolt pattern?
2. Would the Lincoln flexplate bolt to my crank and have the same diameter as the Mustang flexplate so I could use the Lincoln plate and converter in the Mustang?
