Ok I have a 65 ford mustang that I have put a Ford AOD tranny in and I drove it arround the block and found out right away that the tranny wanted to shift up to 2nd and 3rd quickley. I asked arround and checked on line and found out that I needed to connect a Loakr kick down cable also I fegured out how to set it so I can adjust the cable correctly with the help of some guages. It sounds like with the oil temp arround 150 degrese and the tranny in nuteral I should have about 30 to 35 lbs pressure and when it is in park it should between o and 5 lbs. This should make it safe enough for me to drive without burning it up. Please let me know if I mised anything. I ordered the guages on the net and am waithing for them to get here .

been about 2 years since i did mine but that sounds about right i set mine right at 35 with the lokar cable I am pretty sure the cable comes with instructions on how to set it.:thumbup:

Cool!! the tranny shop scared the bejesus! out of me and gave me gloom and doom if I didnt do it right. I guess they were just wanting to help save me from burning it up.
