i want build a 460 ford
any ford fanatic whit a good recipe to make between 550hp and 600 hp
not a street engine,,,just to beat the hell out of it on drag race

hydraulic roller lifter,,,,roller rocker,,,,good head casting(please forget boss429 head from Kaas) how much head need to flow to achieve the task

they also do heads..another resource is Jim Van Cleve of Van Cleve motors in Morton Wa. He has won at Englishtown as well as a number of Comp Eliminator races over the years and knows his Fords..Call those guys for the straight info..

A mild "bracket motor" is easy to build from a 460. 600 HP is "cake".

Offset grind the crank to BBC rod journals and a stroke of 4.4". At .030" over, this makes 501 CID. Use Eagle 6.8" rods, Icon pistons and you're "there".

We did one for my brother, in a '66 Mustang, runs 9.80s and shifts at 6,200 (3,200 lbs. "race weight"). ProComp heads, ported here, SI valves, Comp springs/retainers/locks, Scorpion rockers, Victor, AED 1000HOM carb.

He's in his third year of running this engine without any issues.

You can also use CJ heads, properly ported, to accomplish the level of power you're looking for.

Use a D0 or D1 block. Have seen "issues" with the D8s.
