Well I have finally gotten my hands on my first car....

I was starting to work on the engine because thats really all I have alot of experience with, the most body work i have ever done was fix a scratch on the side of my moms car, and this car is almost all body work....ain:

How do I fix the doors if I want to keep them original. Can I just weld sheet metal into the holes or what?

Need help soon!!!

What holes? Need more info. Can you post pictures? Have you done a search on the board - there is a lot of info here on filling chrome trim holes, on patching rusted areas, on killing rust, etc., etc.

hey cool car, I almost bought '61Galaxie myself few years ago, it looked pretty nice, straight, just little rust bubble, post some pics.

The holes are rust I can get parts off the internet but then Im getting into some serious cash...

Is there any relatively inexpensive way to fix rust holes, or do I have to get the replacement doors and windows.

Some of the rust is surface some of it has eaten right throught the doors, because it has been sitting out in the rain for years.

get a donor fender or hood from a salvage yard.
cut out the rust.
make a template out of card board or poster board.
cut out your patches from your donor metal.
bend to suit.
weld in place.
grind it beautiful.


do a search in the body section. if it ain't there, let us know.
