Are you familiar enough with Ford rear ends to tell the difference in a 8" and a 9"? A 75-78 Granada should have had a 8" ford rear, looks a lot like a 9" ford rear end, but the bottom two bolts of the center section will be accesible with a deep well socket. A 9" rear end the bottom two bolts on the center section have to be taken out with a wrench due to the offset in the pinion. I will try to get a picture of a 8" ford rear that I have and post it for you to compare. Hope this helps a little.

Versaille 9

Verry verry Few used the 9 in disc brake versaille, rear. also an option on mercury monarch. It might be a good time to upgrade with a rear disc kit. or mid 80's town car brakes. or explorer rear discs.

I have learned something else lol I never knew that the monarch or Granada came with the disc brake 9". That was more often found in the Lincoln cars of the day wasn't it? Or was it an option for all three and just not oftne used in the ford and merc?

( rears

I am pretty sure It was standard on the lincoln. and all the ones with the 9's also use hydro-boost power brake systems.
all the ones i found in the bone yards had lots of options. factory aluminum wheels, power windows. door locks, different dome light with pull down map lite etc. 2 doors usually had bucket seats and a console.

versaille 9's

The Versaille and option granada -monarch 9.s were unique, replacemant parts are hard to find, the wheel bearing retainer was also the caliper bracket . NEVER buy one unless it is complete, replacement rotors and calipers are available. A tow truck driver drug one for a ways and ruined the caliper bracket, I looked long and hard and passed it by.
