i have a dakota frame that i will be using for my plymouth which has to be shortened about 5". anyone have any experience doing this? got any advice? kinda got an idea what i have to do but looking for more insight.
the frame is a C-channel and i plan on welding a plate on the inside of the rail. i have to shorten the frame because the wheelbase is too long.
here's another item. I plan on channeling the car. Don't know yet for sure, but i think i may have to cut off some of the frame rail at the end of the frame because of the sloped back of the car. the problem is that the leaf supports are pretty much right at the end of the frame rail. i have some shorter leafs that i could switch out, but i'm worried about making a new mount further up the frame rail. anyone have any suggestions on how to do this? I was thinking i could box the frame and put shackles on there to attach the spring to? ???
