Man this a good looking fuel pump has any tried it, no anything about it.

Will it last, Will it be strong enough to pull out from the top of the gas tank. Pump will mounted near the side of the gas tank. The price is $136.00

I have never used THAT pump but let me give a little warning. For the people running LS engines a popular pump is the WALBRO 255. Going price from a reputable dealer is around $120 but some sell on line for as little as $45! Some of those "knock-offs" have been known to last less than 10 minutes. Does the pump you are looking at fall into that category, I don't know. Sorry I couldn't help more.

fuel pump

This tank is add on to a smaller tank. I have mounted under the truck. When the tank under the truck gets low like to pump gas from the new tank down to the old tank via switch. Motor pic.

X2 on the 255 thing is a great pump all around. Used them on rails from 15 to 70 psi without a issue with the pump.

Spend some cash on a pre and post rebuild able filters with stainless mesh inserts.

If it says Pro Comp, like that one does, stay away....BIG issues with their cheap chinese knock off parts. MSD copies, other stuff. Was complete junk. For a transfer pump you're better off with a Holley blue. Inexpensive, proven, reliable....for a little more flow, Holley Black. If you want that big of a pump, spend the money on a quality one from Magnafuel, Aeromotive, or Product Engineering....

That one is cheap for a reason.......save your money and the headache

This one will do a great job for 50 bucks.........Holley Mighty Mite electric fuel pumps are small in size, but BIG on performance! What is the reason you can't gravity feed the pump putting it below the tank?

Solves several issues with starvation and avoids using pads or foam.

Just put your return near your pickup so the thing is always running in a loop.

Should be a matter of welding in a bung.

I really didn't wont to tap the bottom if did not have to, to me it looks cleaner. On the top there's a vent fitting, return fitting, a supply fitting, on top. Looking for a fuel pump strong enough to pull from the top about 4 feet at the most. down to the other tank. I will post a few more pics.

I Mallory 140 been install for 8 years just about. Where the plastic round fitting bucket of parts is i was going to mount the and fuel pump and filter.



that blue sure looks nice though but I'm learning from you guys the best way I should go. Will Mallory 250 pump work also just asking what you all think.

If it is just a transfer pump, you don't need anywhere near that much flow rating, it is total overkill.

Now, if the engine could use more, put the Mallory 250 in the place the 140 is right now, and use the old 140 as the transfer pump. It is still extreme overkill for a transfer pump, but that makes a whole lot more sense than wasting the rating of a 250 pump using it to do the job a 50 gph pump is more than capable of doing.
If looks is a big deal, clean up the 140, disassemble it and paint/powdercoat the motor casing nice, polish or brush finish the aluminum parts, throw a rebuild kit in it and get a new I.D. sticker for it from Mallory. It'll look as good or better than new.

Even a good old Holley Red pump would be overkill for a transfer pump.

Agree with Predator Guru on the ProComp pump....ProComp makes some okay stuff on things that don't have moving parts...valvecovers, timing chain covers, intake manifolds, etc, even some cylinder head castings.... but stay far away from anything ProComp/SpeedMaster with electricity involved.

Glad you could kinda understand. My old setup is ok the 140 pump. I have 12 gallon gas tank under the truck. I'm adding a 15 gallon gas tank to the old gas tank. I never install a tank that had the supply gas line on the top. I wonted to make sure any fuel pump I get will able to pull from the top. down to the old tank.



Really do not wont to tap the bottom of the new thank - unless I really had to. I like the look of the fuel lines on top coming down the side.



So mallory 140 or 250 will be ok. Kinda making the truck more of a street weekend car show driver. That 12 gallon tank started to get on my last nerve. funny.

I've been playing on and off with ProComp and Speedmaster parts for several years. I can't say that the failure rate I've seen is noticably different from name brands.

One needs to consider that most name brands are made in part, if not in total, off shore somewhere that the wages are starvation and there are not taxes or environmental cleanup expenses. The only mantra these days is 'stock holder return'.

So your Chinese made fuel pump can feed your Japanese made carburetor, on the Indian made intake bolted to the Mexican made engine that feeds financial investors from Singapore while you burn gasoline made from Iranian crude oil.

I've been running a dirt cheap fuel pump my MGA for three years now. I know one guy that ran this pump for 127,000 miles and another that's currently over 85,000 mile with this pump. It runs at 2.5 to 4.5 psi (SU's won't take a lot of pressure) and 30 gph. It may not flow enough to feed a 400 hp engine but it works great on the English four cylinder. It's under $20 and so cheap I carry a spare in the trunk.

This may not be pertinent to the bigger engines but my point is this - a cheap fuel pump may work far better than you think. Here's the pump I'm running.

Hey thanks i just may do that. switch pumps around. I'm getting there waiting for a few parts to come in. Clean up the pump. 250 pump freaken fast.

pump install

Man this pump is strong i could have ran smaller 1 it pulls right from the top no problems. Made a switch bracket and painted it. I have to install gauge next. Update pics.

I would have thought you'd want to use that big 250 to feed the engine, rather than the smaller 140 that is already doing that job.
It would make a lot more sense from the performance standpoint....unless you're never even going to get close to using the capacity of even the 140 pimp(650+ HP area)

At the time, I did not no until got with all you guy's, I never tried to pump gas from at the top of a fuel tank before. 250 pump I would have to make another box and mounted higher on the frame rail to make it work.



"O" to i put 12 volt valve on 3 way split switch and tied it to the fuel line. I can run the 250 pump straight to the carb or pump to the old tank.



250 pump is taller, I really won't to mount it on the frame.



I was told at 1st by few others local people it may have problems pulling out the top of the gas tank.
