I have a 1995 gmc pick up sierra I replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter the truck will start and run for a few hours or days and then suddenly shut off and won't start again. sometimes it would kick in and start but now it won't start at all. Can anyone please help me I am desperate have been stuck on the highway had to have a tow truck pick me up, have gotten stuck 35 miles from home then it started about an hour later:evil:

You'll have to check the fuel pressure. My dad has a 98 GMC and one day it wouldn't start. I checked the fuel pressure and found it 3 psi below it's recommended fuel pressure so as you see, even if the pump is providing pressure, if the pressure isn't up to factory measure it won't start. Hard to believe 3 psi below would have a effect on it, but it does. We played around with it by replacing the filter and the pressure came up another 1 psi, which was enough to make the truck idle, but the second the throttle was pressed it would go dead. We replaced the fuel pump and it's ran fine since and that's been 4 plus years ago.
