Any heard about this show.. It's on the history channel at 6pm here in california.

the discription for the show says:

1968 Mustang" Teams add high-performance technology to 1968 Mustangs and then race them against each other. The winners get both cars.

Anyone watch this show yet? It was kinda cool. I got to learn some things about the 68 Ford Mustang. It's funny that the winning Mustang didn't have first gear because the manufactuer shipped C6 transmissions instead of the C4's that were needed.

I thought anybody knew that you can't just throw a bunch of nitrous at a stock motor. Maybe they were only hoping it would last for the race but guess what!

Yeah. It seems to me that they decided to blow the motor by dumping as much nitrous as they could because they couldn't catch the cammed mustang. That was a good lesson for weekend warriors that were watching. It was funny watching them remove the transmission and finding out they had to put the same ones right back in.

I learned two things watching that show. One, that 289 Mustangs are slow as hell, high 16's!? Come on, my 305 Caprice runs high 16's. Two, that the history channel thinks they should "dumb it down" when ever they talk about something that's going on with the cars.

Don't mean to offend anyone (Except maybe the producers of that one hour of crap).
The only saving grace in that waste of time was some of the history of the cars involved.
And what is up with this 20 hour deadline - are they trying to make a soap opera out of that #@$%# - ohhh, they had me on the edge of my seat. I can see it now - they're going to replace the N.F.L. in the suspense catagory at the Emmy Awards.
Deadlines - have you ever gone into a machine/autobody/any kind of shop and told them there was a deadline - lots of luck...

I just hope they have some better cars. I dont mean to insult Ford fans but the 289 is a poor choice. We would not run 273 Cuda's.
Let's see the big blocks come out. I suppose they wanted to start with a recognizable classic as the first car.

The premise of the show was bad, assuming two cars with 36 years of wear and tear come even close to being equal is way off.

With all the crap on tv it's a nice change. The show is entertainment. I hear people ragging on all these shows that have come out such as Hot Rodding, American Chopper, Overhaulin, Rides,etc., and now Full Throttle. If we didn't have these shows then what else is out there to watch when we kick back in the chair for entertainment. The Lifetime channel? MTV? Pimp my junky ride? Things are changing finally. It doesn't become perfect overnight. I would like to see a series simular to BBC (British Broadcasting Center) Top Gear or 5th Gear where they go over the history and performance and show the car racing around the track.

American Chopper and AMerican Hotrod suck two kinds of Arse. Rides is good. Overhaulin ok. Pimp my ride is nasty. TO see those clowns at westcoast fawning over a CutlASS Sierra is painful. Then watching them install tv screens in the back of a car seat where only people in a following car can see, is insane. Like the Dead Milkmen used to say "That was pathetic! Just watching this show for the first time right now.The only reason it caught my eye while surfing was I caught a glimpse of a Buick Grand National.I want one of those and they are shredding it.Not bad ideas,just the mechanical apptitude of those doing it.I am assuming they take average Joes who do not know how to rotate tires and have them build a car,am I right on that?

I thought it was sad that they added on a few thousand dollars worth of goodies and still didn't make the cars any faster. In fact, I think the one car that actually ran right was slower than a stock GN.

I drove several of them before when I worked on cars.Man,they are fast.I would like to get one eventually.I have even considered getting one and putting the Malibu up for s.....blasphemy,never mention sell the Malibu again!!!!!Actually I thought I was gonna have to sell it once before to pay off some legal fees(not mine)But fortunatly I did not have to,always a good thing to have a good attorney at your fingertips,even it it does cost some more $$$$$.

i watched "pimp my ride (piece of crap)" and they had a ghetto 1980s ford escort with a house fan on the dash since the ac was bad. Why don't they send it to the junkyard, and buy the drivers of these POSes a decent car. Whoever would fix up an econobox is stupid.:drunk: "but it's pimpin krunk ghetto flash, yo" I don't care if it' limping junk ghetto trash though.

As for the tvs in the headrest, it's to make the owner of the car look stupid for pimpin a 1980s econojunk. "let's put some dubbbbbbzzzzz on that Chevette over there. Now that's tight. It needs neons too." **puke**
