Fiberglass tilt front ends you can get from a number of companies. If you want to tilt your front end you can either use the tilt front end kits from almot any fiberglass front end/hood/bodyparts manufacturer or fabricate your own due to weight issues. Tell me which you want to do and I'll be glad to help.

You could always tilt the steel you have. It really isn't that hard. If its for looks, no worries. if it is for race, even better, leave out the inner fender wells.

I was thinking about rigging something up so that just the hood would flip forward, similar to a corvette style hood. are their advantages to having the whole front end flip up instead, or is it just a matter or prefrence?

Go to VFN Fiberglass (www.vfnfiberglass.com) bypass the movie and go to catalog, scroll down until you get to 62-65 ChevyII Nova and I think you'll find what you want. I found out about this website through the fellow rodders on this website. There is also www.showcars-bodyparts.com, another site that I found through this website. Talk to Tom Snyder. ....t

Miststlkr, a tilt hood is simple, just swap the hinges to the pick a part buick hinges found on park avenues. Full flip front ends are so popular because it looks cool and you have total access to your enging for maintanence. You can also sit on the tires to change plugs, its great! Much more space to spread your knuckles.

will the tilt hood from the Park Avenue be able to clear the radiator or will i need to mess with moving that around? i had an idea to rty out that i designed because i couldn't think of any cars except Corvettes that had it an they have odd radiator mounting to make them work.

maybe i'll make a full flip front end one day, but i don't have the skill to do that yet. sounds fun though, and they do look good.

Depending on how you mount the hinges it should work just fine. What kind of car are you working with? Corvettes, vipers, older jaguires, some alfa romeos, and even MG and austin healy's have/use tilt hoods or front ends stock. If you just want the hood to tilt let me know what your working with and i'll tell you exactly how, step by step if needed.

I'm working on a '78 Omega. i think i know how to do it, but if you have the time, a step-by-step never hurt... and i'm not positive on it so i'd rather get that then screw it up...

I am working on using those buick hinges for my '70 Mustang.
The part I am not sure of is how to hold the rear of the hood down.

Buicks use a latch pin setup in the car you got the hinges from. the easiest way would be to get a set of locking hood pins and mount them above the firewall. They will sit flush with the hood and you can paint them to match if you like. Latches have also been mounted on the firewall. Anything is possible.

I also have been looking for a way to have a one piece front end........I have a 66 Impala. I went to www.vfnfiberglass.com and they have a complete front end kit for my ride!!! So my questions is.....When the front end tilts what keeps the fenders from touching the doors. Are the buick hinges you guys talk about something everyone uses for tilt front ends??

The Buick hinges that are being talked about are for making your hood open from the rear , not the whole front end ;)
