I finally figured out why my torpedo kerosene heater smells so much worse than
when it was new. I changed the filters, set the fuel pressure and cleaned it
out, but no difference. So I removed the spray nozzle, disassembled it and found
a real small "O" ring on the end of the brass nozzle that seals it to the plastic
housing, replaced it and "bingo" it made all the difference in the world.
Just thought some of you would like to know:thumbup:

Ayuh,... Those nozzles are Cheap,...

I replace mine, anytime I take the thing apart...
It's the only way to insure yer gettin' a Good spray pattern...

I had a Kerosene heater that I had to stop using because of that, different design so I don't think it would have helped but I gave up on kerosene and I know it must have been me because lot's of people use it. I bought mine used, it heated well but damn the stink.

It looked like this one only it was older (but like new) and didn't have the cage around it.

yup. I know when to clean the home oil burner the same way, it stinks..

new tips are cheap..

Ayuh,.... I've got a couple of those too,...
'round here, they're generically known as a Kero-sun,...

It's basically an updated safer version of the ole kerosine Pot-burners of the earlier part of the last century...

Turned down low they usually don't smoke too bad, but if ya turn 'em up very high, Yep, real Smokers...

I think the Op is talkin' 'bout a pressure sprayed oil burner, a salamander...

If ya can stand the Roar, I think the salamander is a good heater, 'n somewhat directional...

If ya want quite heat, the Kero-sun has to heat the whole space by convection...
