Our video has been removed by YouTube following a complaint. However, the original video has also been removed

. Time for a (very quick) pat on the back for everyone who has helped out here.
I've put the video up on the server that hosts our
Crankshaft Coalition, in the San Francisco bay area. Here's a link to the video:
Monkeyboys Video.
(That's in .mov format, which you should be able to play with the QuickTime player. I'll be working on converting it to other formats as well. We'll need Flash Video Format and Windows Media Player Format for starters.)
If they try to exert any pressure to get that video removed, we will use our server in Switzerland. If they try to exert any pressure on Swiss authorities to get it removed, we will get some server space in a third-world country, and place the video there.
They will have much less luck trying to use Communist tactics to get it removed from the SF bay area server, as it's run by Marc Perkel. Marc was the guy who helped us out when the Australian mainstream hotrodding media tried to
force down the largest Australian hot rod site on the web. That's what led to us starting
Ozrodders.com to provide a safe haven for the Aussie hotrodders. Marc is a huge free speech advocate, and he puts his money where his mouth is. He accomplishes more with his middle finger than most people do with an arm and a leg. He's one of those genuine "baaaaaaad dudes", even though he probably would never admit it. Marc has done a lot to support free speech online. Everything from hosting sites that other datacenters won't touch, to starting his own web-based religion, the
Church of Reality.
At this point, I'd like to ask everyone reading this thread to do their part to protect our First Amendment rights as Americans, and our rights as human beings to express ourselves. If you don't protect your rights, they will cease to exist.
I would really appreciate it if everyone reading this thread, especially our Hotrodders Bulletin Board members, would take the time to please select 1 forum from this list:
Crankshaft Coalition Master List of Hotrodding Forums, register a username, and post about this video on that forum. As always, please be most respectful of other forums when posting on them. Here's a sample post you can use as a guideline. It's best not to copy-paste this word-for-word, as it will be perceived as disrespectful. However, you can use it as a template for what to say. My notes are in italics.
Hi, I saw this forum listed on the
Crankshaft Coalition Master List of Hotrodding Forums.
(Say where you found their site first. Initial honesty shows that you're not trying to manipulate them.)
I've taken the time to read your posting guidelines, and I hope that my post doesn't violate them. Please let me know if it does.
(R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Read those guidelines, and don't violate them.)
I'm posting here today because we have created a hilarious parody video of the latest Hollywood hot rod television tripe that we feel is poisoning the hearts and minds of American hotrodders.
(Let them know that the video is funny, and true.)
We've posted the video on YouTube, but we it's been unjustly removed, despite the fact that it's clearly a legal parody, and well within the boundaries of our right to free speech as Americans, and as human beings.
(Explain the situation briefly.)
Here's a link to the video so that you can watch it:
http://www.crankshaftcoalition.com/monkeyboys.html (That's in .mov format, I'll work on putting it in other formats too, so that we can upload those as well.).
Also, here's a link for more information on this disturbing matter:
http://www.hotrodders.com/bad .
(Post a link to the video, and a link to http://www.hotrodders.com/bad . Please use the http://www.hotrodders.com/bad url. It now points directly to this discussion, but we can always re-point it to a summary page of this situation when this thread becomes too long to read.)
Thanks for listening. I hope you enjoy the video.
(Thank them respectfully.)
After posting on a forum, please return to this thread and post a link to that forum so that we can keep track of which forums we've covered.
Gas Monkey Garage used us. They ignored our guidelines, spammed our forums, and insulted our intelligence with pathetic propaganda and duplicitous "let's donate to charity" marketing tactics. We asked for a genuine apology many times, and we never got one. We asked them to please remove the video from the web, and they ignored us. When we spoke our minds, they used harmless legal scare tactics to try and intimidate us into ignoring our rights to free speech. It's disgusting, and we're not going to roll over and let it happen.
Once again, here's that link:
