Ok Guys I hope I'm in the right section, but Would it be a good idea to install a new Gas Tank? My mechanic's about to pull My tank off my 1970 Grand Prix. He says before he puts gas in it he wants to make sure it's not rusty....at this point I think replacing the tank would be better, He says I dont have to. I have alot in the rebuilt 455 engine and want to make sure there is'nt any issues down the line.....I think I just answered my own question.....but would replacing the fuel lines be neccesary also? I hope I'm in the right section....

fuel sys

most likely u will NOT need to replace the tank or fuel lines. but pulling the tk and inspecting it is a very good idea.. if u gotta replace the tk, then thats the way it goes, but if not u save a few bucks... replacing the lines is not a biggie either.. but a GOOD filter goes along ways..

might think about putting in a sw on the oil pressure line so as the engine dies and pressure goes to zero the fuel pump will stop too.. might look into pep boys pump. i put one on and been working great for 10 yrs. and puts out bout 4# so no reg needed.
