Normally, the shiny knob on the left (see pic), when pulled 1 notch turns on all the gauge lights (speedometer, gas and custom gauges for oil pressure, engine temp, etc). When pulled 2 notches, it turns on the headlights along with the gauge lights. As of yesterday, however, pulling it all the way does not turn on the gauge lights, although the headlights still work as expected. I checked the gauge fuse in the fuse box located right next to the clutch pedal and it is intact. Can someone suggest where to even start troubleshooting?

Switch failure ..that's all I got . pull the switch & use a test light , that should tell you ..

Is the knob turned all the way counter clockwise? There's a rotary dimmer built into the headlight switch. The contacts on that dimmer corrode over time, which can cause problems with the dash lights. With the knob pulled out, try rotating the knob right and left a little to see if the dash lights come on or at least flicker. If so, it's time for a new switch.
