1946 Ford/Willys Jeep Rod, Toyota 1UZ-FE turbo engine, Soarer IFS & IRS

Good afternoon all,
just found this forum and decided to join up and show off what I'm currently building, as I've just got it to (pretty much) a rolling chassis this past weekend.


It's a bit of a mongrel but basically it's an original 1946 Ford Deluxe Ute chassis with all the mechanicals from a 1991 Toyota Soarer (or Lexus SC400 if you prefer) grafted on, including the front and rear subframes, steering, brakes, engine, gearbox, diff, steering, etc.

The body will be a (rough) copy of a 1942 CJ2A Willys Jeep in aluminium over the steel frame.



I'm planning on fitting twin Mitsubishi Evo TD05HRA turbochargers to the 4L 1UZ-ZFE to give it some more poke.
The main reason for going with the original chassis is it will simplify registration here in Australia over using a fabricated chassis, and the reason for the CJ2A body is it's the simplest pre-1949 body I could think of to fabricate from sheet metal - it's almost all flat panels!
