Gen V 454 Questions from a FNG - UPDATED
Hello everybody!
I hope you all had a wonderful Independence Day
I have decided to start hunting drivetrain parts for my future '55 or '57 BBC Gasser clone from my youth.
I have just begun scrounging, but have already found what I think is a good deal:
Gen V 454 - std bore, 4 bolt mains, stock, complete less intake.
I am wanting to build a serious street/strip engine: high compression, solid lifters, etc.
Since I am old school, I am unfamiliar with the Gen V specifics. My questions are these:
1) is this a good foundation for the type of screamer that I am wanting to build?
2) will the Gen V cause more installation issues in a Tri5 than an earlier BBC?
3) any known weaknesses to the Gen V (I know that they came out with a Gen VI)?
4) can Gen IV parts (intake, heads, waterpump, etc) be used with a GenV
Thanks for your help guys!
