I need help in seeing if the Pontiac Fiero GETRAG 282 tranny can be bolted to any other engines? I got an S10 I wanna play with and do a mid engine design, something I havent seen yet (besides on those wheelie trucks at the strip). If anyone knows of different combos that are compatible that would be great!

If you really want some horses in the bed of an s10....Have a look at the mid 70s Olds Toronado or Caddy Eldorado FWD setups. It will be a major undertaking though.

Those were actually my first thoughts but a V6 would be a good start you can put plenty of power outa them plus even with the motor up against the back of my bed it would still be a tight fit. Unless I moved the axel back but Id like to keep it where it is. My dad and I were talkn about a 911 motor but thats a little iffy to me cause Ive never worked on one plus they can be $$$

INstead of sideways have you thought about a V-drive? I have seen a couple. I do not about durability or expense. But I think it would make it easier.
